About Us

Father and son duo discussing issues of the day.

Sam is the father and lives in Anchorage, Alaska. He was there for Devine Malevolence's birth at Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia, so many years ago.

The two then moved to London, England where Devine attended preschool in St. John's Wood, and near Regent's Park, where he visited on a regular basis. On one occasion, Devine fell and broke a few bones in his elbow - which was repaired in the British Government's health care system at no cost to us. Devine then attended the American School in London.

In London, Sam worked in the U. S. Embassy where he edited a weekly newsletter, The Grosvenor Grapevine, and also as Vice Consul, issuing non-immigrant visas for travel to the U. S. and providing services to U. S. citizens in London. Sam also finished his graduate studies while he was in London, and was awarded a Masters of Science of Management from Boston University.

They both traveled throughout England, Scotland, France and Ireland, visiting many places of cultural interest.

Upon the end of our tour in London, they moved to Cairo, Egypt where they lived in the suburb of Maadi. Sam worked at a couple of jobs at the U. S. Embassy - and Alex attended Cairo American College. In 1997, Sam and Devine's mother divorced - and they have not lived together after that point.

Devine spent a year with his mother and sisters in Carlisle, Pennsylvania before moving back to Alexandria, Virginia where he has attended school, most recently graduating from Fairfax High School.

Sam moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he worked for an international bank as an operations analyst, owned small business on a Federal Express contract, and began a stint in cash management/bill collecting. Sam reconnected with a high school friend, Dara, whom he married in 2004. Sam and Dara moved to the San Francisco Bay area and then onto Anchorage.

In 2009, both Sam and Devine's mother were diagnosed with serious land advanced cancer. Sam's status can be found on his blog - My Medical Update.
